The altar of incense in the wilderness tabernacle reminded the Israelites that prayer must play a central role in the life of God's people. It was considered part of the Holy of Holies. Today, the altar of incense shadows the life and person of Jesus in every believer by the Holy Spirit as they come to him in prayer. There is no higher power than agreeing with the highest power and this Christian action must be a part of our daily lives. As our voices rise with Holy Spirit-empowered prayer—they rise before God and release the fragrance of Christ that lives inside believers. Prayers are powerful and they are eternal. The enemy tries to stop prayer at home, and in the church because as our prayers rise, freedom begins to flow, and the enemy loses.
