David had the secret chords with which he accessed the throne of grace. He was an unashamed, undeterred worshipper who despite being an earthly king forgets his throne – to exalt the THRONE of the KING of kings. Even while he erred as a sinner (an adulterer and a murderer), with a broken spirit and a contrite heart of repentant worship – he was still revered as a man after God’s heart…
David had the kingdom keys!
True worship comes from a grateful heart, and from the heart, true worship is consummated – because God is a spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.
Worship is an intimate experience whose original Greek interpretation
(proskuneo) means “to kiss the lips of God”. We move God and the cloud of his glory when we worship and praise him in diverse intimate ways.
Praise is the only business in the heavens that the angels engage in – rightly because that is what they were made for. But when “we” who were made in his own image and of our own freewill PRAISE him in seamless oneness – out of the deep intimacy of our hearts, then it becomes a sweet-smelling savor that moves the hand of God to unlock the heavens and make it RAIN blessings!
Someone needs to get their PRAISE on today! It’s the key to the kingdom!
