Holding Nothing Back

Today’s focus will be on this part of the definition of ALL OUT:

  • Not holding anything back, sparing nothing

Sobering, correct? It kind of took my breath away as I drank in what the thoughts of God were when He said we would go ALL OUT this year. I don’t know about you, but holding nothing back can be challenging.

Nothing means no part. It means nothing you have has an interest or has value enough to get you to hold back anything from God. It means there is not any circumstance that you will allow to stop you from moving forward in obedience to Him. Nothing. Nothing. Zero. No circumstance. No matter what happened in the past. No matter what people think or do. No matter the cost.

How can we possibly be that ALL OUT?

It is by recognizing and appreciating Jesus being ALL IN so He could go ALL OUT for you. We often talk about the price paid as He left Heaven’s glory to come to earth as a man to die for our sins, as though that is a statement. And we don’t give it the attention and appreciation of what that meant for HIM.

The SON OF GOD left ALL that was beautiful, ALL that was effortless, ALL that had no distractions or hardships, to come for YOU to bring nothing but love to share.

He did it for ONE REASON, so that we could be reunited with the Father completely. Imagine it! Read those words over again. Get this deep inside of your spirit. Ponder these things in your heart. Jesus went ALL OUT. He was tempted. Yes, He was. The Bible says so.

Hebrews 4:15 NKJV
For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

In ALL things He was tempted. He wanted to quit. He wanted to say this is too hard. He wanted to give in to frustration. He wanted to go back to Heaven without ALL the suffering He would face to win even just one back to the Father.

BUT JESUS went ALL OUT for YOU. He held nothing back. He submitted to the Father, and He finished His assignment. So many today are great starters, but lousy finishers. No wonder we must focus on the end result, not on what we may face by going ALL OUT.

The most wonderful thing is that Jesus, by His sacrifice, gave us access to the presence of the same Spirit that raised Him from the dead, to live in us.

Romans 8:11-14 NKJV
11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors — not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.
13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

When God went ALL OUT by giving His Son, and Jesus went ALL OUT by enduring the sufferings of the Cross to take ALL of our sins, it was so we could be considered forgiven—no more debt owed. He sent us the Holy Spirit to empower us to live like sons again. We are SONS and DAUGHTERS of the MOST HIGH GOD!

We can’t do it by living according to our desires that please our flesh. But oh, when we live according to the Spirit’s desire now, that is when you tap into real satisfaction and joy that nothing else in this whole world can bring. It is amazing, and awesome, and wonderful and fulfilling! Knowing that JOY of Him, and seeing lives touched by the same love that Jesus brought and that is now living in you, is the ultimate success.

You see, you were built for this. When you give your ALL, He gives you ALL.

ALL that you need to accomplish what is needed, ALL that you ever wanted, ALL that you ever needed, is YOURS so that ALL OTHERS can experience the wonder of Him in their lives.

2 Corinthians 12:19 NKJV
Again, do you think that we excuse ourselves to you? We speak before God in Christ. But we do all things, beloved, for your edification.

We are going ALL OUT, like Paul. We do ALL things for OTHERS’ edification, for them to have a foundation to build upon for His Glory.

God is looking for laid-down lovers of Him, so they can be laid-down lovers for others. No more selfishness, but now there is selflessness. Wow, the Bride is looking better, as we fast and pray and seek His love so that we can love!

1 John 4:7-9 NKJV
7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.

PRAYER:

Dear Lord,

what a great challenge is set before us! Going ALL OUT will cause us to die to self. But we will not focus on the cost, because You didn’t. You focused on the joy set before You, in the lives of those that would be able to be fully reunited with God and ALL that Heaven has to offer each one.

I pray that I will not, not now, not ever, lose sight or take lightly the price You paid for ALL of our sins.

I believe right now that I and others who know You will come into the place of holding nothing back from You. I give it to You with the intensity You had in giving it ALL, not caring about the present sacrifice, but instead looking at the eternal reward of those who are impacted by my YES to You.

Here and now, I ask that You do a work in my heart to hold NOTHING back from You, so I, too, will be able to go ALL OUT for those You seek and those You love. In the precious, faithful name of Jesus I pray.

Amen.
