God spoke to us about seamless oneness. We need to be ALL IN with God. He is God, our Partner, our All in all, and we are to be completely devoted to Him. We recognized that He was talking about the seamless oneness of the Trinity being available to us as well as our oneness with our Father. There is nothing in between us when we are sincerely ALL IN. That is not only possible, but it is essential for our spiritual growth!
We are also to be those marked differently because of our unity.
Psalm 133:1 NKJV
That means that it is not just to be individuals that are ALL IN, but for us to be ALL IN with each partner. That is easy to say, but you know we all come from different backgrounds, and we all have different ways we were brought up. Therefore, in almost the same way as it is in a marriage, there has to be give and take. There must be give and take in every relationship in the Body of Christ.
It is vitally important to learn to prefer one another in love and to walk with the other person above our own wants and needs. I often hear people talk about hypocrisy they have seen or experienced somewhere in some Church. I must admit no Church is perfect, because it is inhabited by broken people. But those people are in the RIGHT place, because as we learn the Word together, and we offer ourselves to Him completely, we will be able to live as He desires with one another.
Paul describes that beautifully for us in Ephesians.
Ephesians 4:1 AMP
Wow! Imagine a whole body of believers that lived in a behavior that is a credit to the Lord’s service!
This is the only way it will be possible:
Ephesians 4:2 AMP
Ephesians 4:3 AMP
Keep the harmony of oneness produced by the Spirit. That also means to us that we can only do it as it is produced by the Spirit. We just can’t love right without Him. That is why it is so necessary for us to know the Spirit of the Lord from the inside out. He is our Teacher and our Friend. He is the One that Jesus said would teach us ALL things, and that would include how to walk in unity.
Unity is not something we just say we have; it is spelled out even more in Corinthians:
1 Corinthians 1:10 NKJV
I am sure you have heard me say that we must have “one voice” and by that I mean that we should stay in our lane. We can certainly glean from other ministers and other ministries, but we must not hear voices that speak directly against what we know is truth. Confusion is born by that, as well as us never being able to come into agreement.
I am not talking about having a different view on certain things in the Word. We realize that is just a reality until we see Jesus and He can sort things out. I am talking about doctrines that say there are other ways to heaven besides Jesus. I am talking about those who think speaking in tongues is of the devil or that they are not for today. I am talking about teaching that God will make you sick to teach you a lesson.
We must know what we know and be able to hold fast to that in unity, by the understanding of the Word, and by having a revelation of it for ourselves as individuals, as well as corporately as a church. Otherwise, there will always be contentions and arguing if we allow it. Not every church will agree, but whatever church you are joined to, you should know what they believe and why, and you should be able to give yourself 100 percent to it. If you have the same mind, you will have the same judgment as well.
And the next part of it will always be challenging as well as wonderful: Forgiving one another. Forgiveness is never really optional in the Body of Christ. It is a commandment and it is what we should do, as we were forgiven by Jesus when we had no right to be forgiven. We all started the same, but praise God, through Jesus we all found unconditional love.
Colossians 3:13 NKJV
Again, love is the ticket:
Colossians 3:14-15 NKJV
We can do it! We can determine to let go of any unforgiveness today. We can choose to let go of any judgment against another. We can choose UNITY.
And we can ALL be ALL IN.
