Day Sixteen

CONNECT PEOPLE TO GOD – COMPELLED TO ACTION

As followers of Christ, our hearts are being changed and our lives are also changed. We desire even more of Him. In His presence, we experience more of His love, more of His power and more of His heart for others.

Walking out true discipleship means we are to have faith that takes action.

14 What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? 15 Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to him, “Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. James 2:14-17 NIV

As we step out in faith action, we will have compassion for those around us. Compassion is the love of God for others and it always compels us to action. Love acts like something. Love becomes something real as it takes action by stepping out and confronting the situation at hand. The love of God through you will change the atmosphere!

Different places, different ways of handling perhaps, but it must always be founded on love. Love is shown in different ways in:

  • Nations
  • Work places
  • Friendships
  • Family members

Because God said, “Love never fails.” Love is the purpose of life. It gives us fulfilment and meaning. It has the power to awaken dead hearts and move people to look for God, and His love.

So, we must ask ourselves, where does love fit into your priority list?

31 But earnestly desire and zealously cultivate the greatest and best gifts and graces (the higher gifts and the choicest graces). And yet I will show you a still more excellent way [one that is better by far and the highest of them all — love]. 1 Corinthians 12:31 AMP

So, all of God’s gifts work by love!

6 For [if we are] in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith activated and energized and expressed and working through love. Galatians 5:6 AMP

And faith works by love.

If you really operate in faith in God and in His Word, you will have love on the inside that will operate through you to impact people.

Since God is love, then we could say faith is the essence of God’s love that gives us concrete confidence to move in His love for the benefit of others.

Impact comes from what you do for others. Love acts like something …

  • Going to the hospital to help someone with a doctor’s report…
  • Giving food to the hungry…
  • Offering forgiveness to those who are rejected or embittered…
  • Hope to the hopeless…
  • Encouragement for those who need to go forward and give them proper steps to help them…
  • Providing bus tickets…
  • Giving groceries…
  • Exhortation for the discouraged…
  • Friendship for the lonely…
  • Joy for those that are mourning…
  • Utilizing your gifts at church and in outreach…
  • Always making people feel noticed, loved and important!

Ask God to help you tune in today and know what love looks like to give out to someone today,  because love acts like something.

Get His heart.
