2018 Fasting Guide – Day Seventeen
ALL IN - MIND
Love the Lord your God with all your mind. Mind … this means the exercise of your mind. Your understanding. So God is specifically saying He would like you to love Him with every exercise of your mind. Have you ever exercised? It definitely takes determination. You have to continue to make decisions to do things that certainly do not feel comfortable. And you need to keep your mind on the result, not on what you are feeling at the moment.
Philippians 3:12 NKJV
This will take effort, exercising your mind to choose to press on.
Philippians 3:13-14 NKJV
Paul wasn’t thinking about the challenges or the struggles. He was thinking about the end results … and we must also. That is how we will know that we are growing in God.
Philippians 3:15 NKJV
And we are not to think that anything we are doing is because we are so awesome. Instead, we must recognize that it is because HE is so awesome! We are warned by Paul about this. We must love the Lord God with our minds keeping things in divine order. He is our strength and it is by the SPIRIT of God that we have the life of God and we can give out the life of God.
2 Corinthians 3:5-6 NKJV
If we learn to look at the goodness of God and look at His promises to us that are verified by the Spirit, we will be friends of God, not His enemy! An enemy of God is not only someone who has done horrible things, but those who just allow their minds to become totally self-centered on the things of this earth instead of the things of the eternal. Are you getting the importance of being ALL IN?
Philippians 3:18-19 NKJV
We are indeed in this world, but we are not “of this world.”
Philippians 3:20-21 NKJV
The Lord told us to do these things, so it is possible, and the Word tells us how to accomplish it.
Philippians 4:8 NIV
I encourage you to keep putting His Word in your heart every day during the fast—and every day after the fast! There are many Bible studies available online and on your phone APPS. There are Bibles you can buy that are written so you can read through the Bible in a year, in the normal order or in the chronological order that it actually happened. Please, if you have one thing to make a resolution on this year, let this be it: How else can I be ALL IN?
