2017 Fasting Guide – Day Twenty
ARE YOU READY TO CHANGE A LIFE?
Are you ready to live a changed life? Because we must realize that if we keep doing what we always have done, then we will produce more of the same of what we already have.
So, if you are already living a limitless, awestruck life every day, then yes, keep on keeping on.
But if you want more, there is always more of God to know. And as you know Him more intimately, you will keep changing as you desire to be more like Him. You will hear His voice from within encouraging you to reach higher and go further in accomplishing all He asks you to do.
You can walk in the ability to change cultures, and release amazing things that will impact the world. You were built for this. You can do all that Jesus said you could do.
But, you must be willing to change.
We are creatures of habit. If we don’t find ways to remind ourselves why we do what we do, we’re prone to just go through the motions. Or we may adopt some new underlying motivation altogether, which can be especially dangerous when it comes to worship.
Worship is such an amazing thing because it is not just singing a song. It is not words that we say or sing. Worship is an experience that comes from our soul (our mind, our will, our emotions) connecting with what our spirit wants to do. And that is to praise Him, to love on the One who first loved us.
In the experience of worship comes a refreshing, a renewal of insight into the things that are happening beyond us. We can open the eyes of our spirit and see into the future; we can see what heaven is like, and then we can bring that which we have experienced in the spirit into the natural. But we must be participants in worship, not consumers. We need to come ready to engage with God from the heart, not just watch with natural eyes. Come to Him on purpose; make a connection with our God. True worshippers get impacted by their relationship with God, and then can impact others because of the overflow. Everyone can know God. All it takes is a desire to love God out of an awareness of how much He loves you. God knows that inside every person there is a worshipper. How do I know that? God created us and He let us see the truth through Jesus identifying it over and over in individuals’ lives in the Word. Jesus said to the Samaritan woman:
The essence of worship is not the external expressions, but genuine expressions that come from the heart. Our spirit is stirred by the Holy Spirit to worship God because of the many wonderful, true, beautiful things about Him, His Son, and His Gospel. The heart of worship then becomes a delight to us. An awesome, daily expression of praise to Jesus for the true things the Scriptures teach us about who He is and what He has accomplished for us. We must let go, and trust in Him and step into the unknown places of the spirit realm, expecting Him to accomplish His will on the earth through us. As we worship, we become aware of what He has already done. And it is only believable by revelation. Such an amazing thought! Such an amazing truth!
Amazing because we have taken on a new life. A life of unconditional love. A sacrificial life willing to do whatever is necessary for someone else to move forward in all God has for them.
God, we are so grateful that we are not limited to a life that is boring and dull, and with no purpose. You have given us a life to be lived WITH You, and You have exciting adventures that await every one of Your children. We praise You today, we connect with Your unlimited love that didn’t only rescue us, but gave us new life and new hope. You awakened truth inside of us. You invited us to be Yours. Really Yours. A part of Your family, and a part of Your heartbeat. Lord, we thank You for awakening every generation to the truth that You always have more. We stand beside You and we rise out of any traps of the enemy. Out of any lies that have held us back. We move forward with You and we stay ever mindful of Who is with us, guiding us, directing us, and loving us. We determine that through this fast, we are living our life to please You, to bring Your love and Your beauty into every environment we walk into. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
