2017 Fasting Guide – Day Sixteen

Jesus selected 12 men to become His closest disciples. However, they had many faults and shortcomings. And none of them had any special qualities of amazing skills that would make them look like desirable candidates. They were ordinary people, just like you and me. But God chose them for a purpose. He wanted to make sure the gospel that would spread across the face of the earth would continue until His return. God’s plan was intentionally to choose the unlikely, to do that which would prove that God Himself would work with and through them to bring about the supernatural.

But Jesus looked at them and said, "With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible." - Mark 10:27 NKJV

We need to realize as disciples of Christ, that nothing is impossible for us, as the continued disciples of Christ. Jesus said there would not be ANY natural limitations for His Church. They would be able to bring the reality of the Kingdom of God from heaven to earth. That is what He wants us to focus on in 2017! We are going to go to a place of higher thinking and higher living! His mandate for His disciples was for them to observe all the things He did for them as an example, and He commanded them to continue it. Let’s look:

Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. - Matthew 28:16 NKJV
Jesus had appointed a mountain for them. We don’t realize that we have been appointed mountains. Many have heard about the seven mountains of society that need to be infiltrated by the Church:

Media, Business, Science, Education, Government, Arts and Entertainment, Church and Family

The Church has stayed within the four walls long enough. We must look at Jesus’ example and follow Him.
18 He told His disciples, "I have been given all authority in heaven and earth. 19 Therefore go and make disciples in all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and then teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you; and be sure of this-that I am with you always, even to the end of the world." - Matthew 28:18–20 TLB
So, here Jesus has given His disciples (all of us):
• Authority
• Ability to reproduce
• Ability to obey
• Assurance He is always with us.
That means we can live limitless. No boundaries. We can do all that He did and be all that He designed us to be.
12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in Me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 14 You may ask Me for anything in My name, and I will do it. - John 14:12-14 NIV
So, let’s not just talk about these things in 2017, let’s begin and pray:

We, the Church, have been counting on someone else to do the impossible, when You have assigned each one of us to be unlimited in You to accomplish the impossible. I love You, Lord, and I am going to arise with a great awakening of my spirit to come into agreement with You. Help me to value Your Word, value others and work together to bring Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
