2017 Fasting Guide – Day Nine

Think about this: God is on our side. Not just a person who says they will be with us. I am talking about the Creator of the universe. I am talking about God, who is everything we will ever need, and who has everything we will ever need to succeed. Now, His ways are not our ways. So we can’t think on a horizontal plane. We must think vertically. We must realize that we are not trying to get Heaven to come to earth. Heaven came to earth in the form of Jesus. We saw exactly what the Father was like through the example of His Son.

The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. - Hebrews 1:3 NIV

Now we know that the Trinity, or the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are actually different in functionality, yet three "Persons" who have the same essence of deity. One represents the other. But we can begin to understand the amazing depth of their abilities and love offered to us by the Godhead, by examining the many names of God. Today I want to look at this name: Lord Sabbaoth. It means, Lord of hosts, Lord of armies of angels, mighty in battle. Now God, with this name, with this power, and this ability, lives inside of us because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. When we accept Him as Lord and Savior of our lives, He — the Lord of hosts — shows up in our lives, to win against our enemy. We are equipped to face and win any battle because we are not alone.

• Moses knew it.
• Joshua knew it.
• David knew it.
• Elijah knew it.
• Peter knew it.
• John knew it.
• Paul knew it.
They were winners, because their confidence was in Who they were with. And we should have the same confidence. Think about all the things He has already fought and won for you. He fought against your sin and He won righteousness for you! He fought and won many financial battles, many spiritual battles already. And as many as we face, He has already given us the victory. “But I don’t feel like I can even rise up to fight this one, Pastor Dawn.” That’s okay, because when we are weak, He is strong.

But He said to me "My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. -
2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV

When we are weak, it releases more of Him, because we recognize and lean on Him and Him alone. He is here today. For you. Lean into Him in prayer and allow His presence to make you confident in His strength. God has given us examples in His Word to continually encourage us. We see David encouraging Solomon about the task God had assigned to him, that He would also see to it that it would be completed.

David also said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the LORD is finished.” -
1 Chronicles 28:20 NIV

This also is for us—personally and corporately. Church, this means that when we are working in the service of the King and doing the work assigned to every believer, the real Church of the living God, He will be there, never leaving our side, and He will help us to complete it. Rise up, Church, and live encouraged and equipped! Lord Sabbaoth is with you today and every day!
