2017 Fasting Guide – Day Eight

LIVING EQUIPPED

Now we should be convinced that God has equipped us to walk in the supernatural for His purposes to be accomplished on the earth. So, how do we live equipped to co-labor with God? Start by living free from fear and intimidation:

Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. - 1 Peter 5:7 NIV

We need to have a casting party. That is what I call it and here is how to do it: You go to the throne room of God in prayer and you take every care that you have and cast it at His feet. He is the one who will care for you. So, let’s act on this today. Come on, it’s alright to write a list of all your cares, then close your eyes, and go to God. This is how: picture Him there on the throne, in heaven, and take that paper and lay it at His feet. Now thank Him for His ability to take way better care of those things than you ever could. Thank Him for being such a good, faithful God and know that He is taking care of your list! Now, see Him take your paper and now, don’t pick it up again! You must realize that He takes care of everything that pertains to our life, and releases to us abundant life.

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. - John 10:10 NKJV

We don't have to be intimidated by the enemy. Once the Lord spoke to me about this and He said, “If the thief comes, he wants to kill, steal and destroy, but when he comes, you can refuse him.”

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. - 1 Peter 5:8 NKJV

The key words in this verse are “seeking whom he MAY devour”. Do you remember being taught to properly ask for permission to do something? You are to say, “May I…?” Well, the Lord showed me one day, that this applies in this scripture, as satan is looking for someone whom he MAY devour. This means he is seeking for those who will be willing to give him permission to devour them. Do you understand that for him to be able to destroy, kill, or steal from you, you must give him permission to do so? Because Jesus has already defeated him. The only room he has is if we provide a way for him into our life. Tell him, “NO permission granted! I am covered in the blood of Jesus and I will live in abundant life. Period. There is no room for you here.” Then we need to stay alert. Again, we cannot do this in the natural, but the Spirit gives us the ability to see around corners and be aware of what the enemy is planning and avoid it. This is easy for the children of God because we are equipped to win. We just must resist him.

Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you KNOW that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. - 1 Peter 5:9 NIV

“Well, that verse isn't very edifying, Pastor Dawn.” Well, it is just the truth. I believe this was written so we would know we should not go into the land of feeling sorry for ourselves. We should not isolate. We should not allow ourselves to concentrate on what we are feeling or experiencing through any challenges that we face. Because there will be some. But we STAND FIRM in FAITH. Living equipped means that God has given us the ability to say NO to these thoughts that keep us bound to the present difficulties and hold us down from rising up as His children who have no limitations in the spirit. It may not look like we win. It may not feel like we are winning, but we walk in the knowledge that Jesus has already won the victory for us.

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will HIMSELF restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. - 1 Peter 5:10 NIV
To live equipped, we have to acknowledge the fact that after we do all we are told to do, our God is a powerful God who is going to fight on our behalf. He will restore you. He will make you strong. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger! He will use the tactics of the enemy to make you firm and steadfast in your belief in Him because He will never let you down. He will show you who He is in your life, and who you really are. When you are steady and steadfast, it makes room for the supernatural to come into your circumstances and bring whatever change is needed. The enemy is no threat to you. He is no match for what God has already invested in you. Move forward without fear, for the enemy was defeated 2,000 years ago.

Prayer:
Father, I believe You are stronger than my weakness. I believe that You are stronger than any tactics of the enemy that would come to stop Your will in my life. I am filled with You, with Your power and with Your abilities. It is not my weakness that I operate from, I operate from Your strength in me. And satan has no more permission to operate in any area of my life. I believe I am equipped and I will live with this knowledge and live my life every day for Your glory. This is my year to live limitless in You! In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
